Ms. Theresa Eson-Benjamin

Miss Theresa Eson-Benjamin, a distinguished Barrister-at-Law with over a decade of legal expertise, was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales in 2010 and is a member of the esteemed Middle Temple Inns of Court, UK. She has 13 years standing as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana and is also a member of the Ghana Bar Association. She holds a Law Degree (LLB) from Cardiff University, Wales, UK.

Her professional journey includes serving as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana with Messrs Kulendi@Law, a prominent law firm based in Accra, Ghana, from April 2011 to July 2017. She subsequently assumed the role of Executive Assistant (Deputy Director) to the Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA) in August 2017 and has contributed significantly to the management of NIA.

In her current position, Miss Theresa Eson-Benjamin has demonstrated exceptional leadership by spearheading the development and implementation of identity registration, verification-related and compliance policies. Since July 2019, she has adeptly handled legal matters concerning NIA and managed its Executive Secretariat.

Beyond her legal prowess, Miss Eson-Benjamin is an Associate Insurer recognized by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) in the UK. She has also earned an LLM in International Banking and Insurance Law, showcasing her commitment to continuous professional development.

Miss Theresa Eson-Benjamin serves as the official Ambassador for Ghana on the ID4Africa Movement, an international organization dedicated to supporting African nations in building robust and responsible identity ecosystems for development and humanitarian action.

Her multifaceted expertise reflects a commendable commitment to legal excellence, leadership, and international collaboration.
