Mr. Wisdom Kwaku Deku

Wisdom Kwaku Deku is an accomplished IT leader with a wealth of experience in cybersecurity, systems analysis, and IT strategy spanning over 15 years. Having served as a Head of Systems Administration at the National Identification Authority, he played a vital role in spearheading the implementation of National Identity System (NIS) guaranteeing the integrity and dependability of the national identification infrastructure.

Dedicated to harnessing technology for process optimization, increased operational efficiency, and robust security measures, Mr. Deku is driven by a commitment to aligning IT strategies with organizational objectives to drive growth, innovation, and substantial societal impact.

PRESS RELEASE NIA, in partnership with IOM, Commences Special Registration for the Ghana card in Sissala West, Lambussie and Kassena-Nankana West Districts. The National Identification Authority (NIA), in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), wishes to inform the public that it will commence a special Ghana Card registration exercise for Ghanaians living in selected border communities along the Ghana-Burkina Faso border from Monday, 13th July to Thursday, 6th August 2026. The exercise will take place in the Sissala West and Lambussie Districts of the Upper West Region, and the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region. Following the successful pilot registration exercise conducted in Pusiga in 2024, this initiative will also be implemented in carefully planned phases over the period. All eligible Ghanaians aged six (6) years and above who have not yet registered for the Ghana Card are encouraged to take advantage of the exercise. Registration Communities Sissala West (13th July – 6th August 2026) i. Gwollu ii. Fielmon iii. Fatchu iv. Wiero v. Jitong vi. Kupulma vii. Kwala viii. Puzene ix. Numoro x. Kuni xi. Limeira Lambussie (13th July – 6th August 2026) i. Dahile ii. Happa iii. Bamwon iv. Kokoligu v. Hamile Kassena-Nankana West (13th July – 6th August 2026) i. Gwaru ii. Nania iii. Bisiawo iv. Zeng Registration Requirements: 1. The original copy of an applicant’s Birth Certificate; or 2. A valid Ghana Passport; or 3. Proof of naturalization; or 4. Certificate of acquired citizenship. Applicants who do not possess any of the above documents may be vouched for under oath by one eligible relative or two approved community members who are Ghanaian citizens and possess Ghana Cards. Please Note: Providing false information during registration or assisting a non-Ghanaian to obtain a Ghana Card is an offence punishable by law and may result in a fine, imprisonment, or both. PUBLIC NOTICE Ghana Card Registration for Children Aged 6-14 Years Now Available at NIA District Offices in the Volta and Oti Regions The National Identification Authority (NIA) wishes to inform the general public that, effective Monday, 6th July 2026, Ghana Card registration for Ghanaian children aged 6 to 14 years will be available at all NIA District Offices in the Volta and Oti Regions. Following the successful completion of the initial mass registration exercise, the NIA has integrated the registration of children aged 6 – 14 years into its routine registration services at all District Offices in the two regions. Parents and guardians may therefore visit any NIA District Office in the Volta and Oti Regions to register their eligible children. Parents and guardians are advised to accompany their children and present the required supporting documents to facilitate a smooth and efficient registration process. Please Note: Registration for eligible children aged 6 – 14 years is completely free of charge at all NIA District Offices. The National Identification Authority encourages all parents and guardians whose eligible children are yet to be registered to take advantage of this permanent service and obtain Ghana Cards for them.
