Mr. Jay Awuah-Peasah serves as the Deputy Director overseeing the Administration and Human Resource Directorate at the National Identification Authority (NIA). With a tenure of 17 years at NIA, he exemplifies loyalty and dedication. He ascended to his current position of Deputy Director in 2021 and was subsequently appointed as the Head of the Administration and Human Resource Directorate in June 2022. Throughout his career, Mr. Awuah-Peasah has accumulated extensive experience across various departments and units, including the Research, Planning & Monitoring Department, AFIS Unit, and the Strategy & Corporate Affairs Department. Notably, he has contributed to the operational activities of the Authority as a field monitor and trainer during mass registration exercises since 2008.
Education-wise, Mr. Awuah-Peasah completed his secondary education at St. Peters Secondary School, Nkwatia, and further pursued his studies at the University of Ghana, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with History in 2000. He also holds a Master of Philosophy in Sociology from the University of Ghana, awarded in 2004.
Continuing his professional development, Mr. Awuah-Peasah has actively participated in conferences and workshops, including "Building a Better Workforce: A Human Resource Management Workshop in Ghana" organized by the Public Services Commission (PSC), and various events focusing on public procurement organized by the Public Procurement Authority (PPA).
