Dr. Fred Bedzrah is a distinguished Family Physician and Public Health Leader with over sixteen years of experience in clinical care, community health systems, and sustainable development. He holds an MBChB and BSc from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), is a Member of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS), and holds a Master’s in Public Health (Health Services Planning and Management) from KNUST School of Public Health.
Dr. Bedzrah’s professional journey includes serving as a Specialist Family Physician at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he provided clinical leadership, mentored young physicians, and advanced patient care through research and innovation.
He currently serves as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Identification Authority (NIA), an appointment by H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, playing a pivotal role in strengthening Ghana’s national identification systems for governance, security, and service delivery. He also serves as Executive Vice President of CarbonPura Africa, where he led pioneering community initiatives linking carbon credits to targeted health benefits to enhance climate resilience and community well-being.
Dr. Bedzrah contributes to national policy through various appointments, including as a Board Member of the Council for the Society of Family Physicians of Ghana, a member of the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan Working Committee, and a Governing Board Member of the Ho Teaching Hospital.
His additional training includes healthcare management, hospital administration, leadership for health systems transformation, and certifications in project management, public relations, and monitoring and evaluation.
