
Every Ghanaian citizen living within the country and abroad has the right to be in the National Identification System and citizens who are Zero(0) years and above are entitled to be issued with a national ID card, as required by the law, to provide added convenience and ease when conducting with public sector institutions, civil society organizations and private sector businesses.
Mandatory Requirements

- A Birth Certificate OR
- Valid Passport OR
- A certificate of acquired citizenship AND
- Digital Address of your permanent place of residence (Ghana Post GPS)
Without the above mentioned mandatory requirements, one will have to go through the vouching process.
Vouching Process
- The applicant must choose a relative who has been issued with a Ghana Card to identify him or her under oath before a commissioner for oaths.
- Where there is no relative to vouch for the applicant, two persons approved by the Board who have already registered and have the Ghana Card can vouch for the applicant under oath.
Secondary Requirement
An applicant with the following valid national IDs like Drivers license, NHIA card, SSNIT number, GRA Tax Identification Number(TIN), Voter ID card, Passport must bring them along for harmonization of data.
