Colonel Peter Kwame Ghansah (Retired)

Colonel Peter Kwame Ghansah (Retired) holds the esteemed position of Head of Operations of the National Identification Authority (NIA). He is a seasoned Building Technologist by profession and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Building (UK). His academic credentials include a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Administration, both from GIMPA. Additionally, he holds a Diploma in Management from the British College of Professional Management, UK. and Diploma in Defence Management from Cranfield University/Defence College in Shrivenham, UK.

A product of the Ghana Military Academy and the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Colonel Ghansah also received training from Sunyani Technical University, Takoradi Technical University, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Cranfield University/Defence College in Shrivenham.

His professional journey includes diverse roles in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). Notably, he held various Command and Staff appointments as the Commanding Officer of the Engineer Training School, Deputy Director Engineer Services at the General Headquarters Directorate of Engineer Services. He was also the Director, Maintenance and Director, Installations at the General Headquarters Department of Logistics.

Having served with the UN, AU and ECOWAS on peacekeeping missions in Sudan, La Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Lebanon, Kuwait and Iraq in various positions including, Combat Engineer Operations Staff Officer, Chief Military Observer, Chief of Intelligence and Security, Force Chief Engineer, Deputy Chief of Staff Logistics, Deputy Chief of Service Delivery and Sector Commander, Colonel Peter Kwame Ghansah (Retired) has contributed significantly to the Ghana Armed Forces in various capacities, culminating  in the role of Contingent Commander of Ghanaian Contingent in MINUSA in Mali.
